The Base Transceiver Station (BTS) is a telecom infrastructure that allows wireless communication between subscriber devices and telecom operator networks. The subscriber device may be a mobile phone or a wireless internet device, and the operator network may be a GSM, CDMA, or TDMA platform. A typical BTS consists of a Transceiver (TRX) that controls signal transmission and reception, sending and receiving transmissions to or from higher communicating nodes, a Combiner that combines feeds from several TRXs so that they can be sent out through a single antenna, reducing the number of antenna arrays that must be installed, and a Power amplifier that facilitates in signal enhancement from the TRX for transmission through the antenna, and a Duplexer that separates transmissions from the TRX.
