The systems are made up of an airbag, a sensor, an inflator, and a jacket. When the sensor detects a fall, the airbag deploys to protect the user. The effectiveness of these devices was demonstrated in fall tests that use dummies with and without airbags. During the system experiments, The airbags reduced the impact acceleration for falls of less than 2m, and the Head Injury Criterion (HIC) values were less than 1,000, meeting the auto-crash test requirement.
