About Acoustic Wave Filter
Acoustic Wave Filter is a filter technology, which aids in improving the cellular performance. Acoustic wave filters use a piezoelectric material to transform electrical energy into acoustic or mechanical energy. Interdigital transducers are used in these filters to achieve this. On either end of the device, interleaved metal electrodes transform an electrical signal into an acoustic wave, which is subsequently converted back to an electrical signal. The waves travel across the surface of an elastic, piezoelectric material with an amplitude decaying into the substrate material, such as quartz, lithium tantalite, or lithium niobate, once the electrical energy is converted into acoustic waves. The Acoustic wave filter market can primarily be segmented into SAW Filters and BAW Filters, with the SAW Segment Accounting for larger market share because of its extensive application in consumer electronics.
