About Push To Talk
Push to Talk (PTT) refers to a method of communication that generally uses a half-duplex system. It works by requiring the person speaking to push a button in order for the other individual on the other end of the line to hear him. Just one person can speak at a time since simple PTT uses half-duplex. Police radios, air traffic controller telephone networks, and even certain wireless applications are all examples of information technology. For 3G digital PTT, newer PTT devices use voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Cellular systems have adapted the PTT concept to deliver a service called Push to Talk over Cellular (PoC), which enables end-users to turn their cell phone into a walkie-talkie for a much longer range.
