About Electronic Stablity Program (ESP)
The Electronic Stability Program (ESP), also known as Electronic Stability Control (ESC) or dynamic stability control (DSC), is a computerised system that enhances a vehicle's stability by sensing and reducing traction loss (skidding). When the ESC detects a loss of steering control, the brakes are deployed immediately to assist the driver in steering the vehicle in the intended direction. Separate wheels are automatically braked, such as the inner rear wheel to counter understeer or the outer front wheel to counter oversteer. Some ESC systems also reduce engine power until the driver regains control of the vehicle. ESC does not improve the cornering performance of a vehicle; rather, it aids the driver in maintaining vehicle control.
