Automotive disc brake is brake system that contains circular-shaped plate or rotor on which the disc brake parts are mounted. It consist of brake disc, two friction pads and brake caliper. In this brake system, the friction pads apply grip on the external surface of the disc to perform braking. These type of brake system primarily used in most hatchback cars, entry-level sedans and MUVs. This brake system is lighter than drum brakes, better cooling, better resistance to fade and provides uniform distribution.
