About Hornbeam
Hornbeam is a deciduous broadleaf tree native to the south of the United Kingdom but it is widely planted elsewhere. The scientific name of hornbeam is Carpinus betulus from family Betulaceae. The leaves of hornbeam also used to relieve tiredness and exhaustion, to stop bleeding and heal wounds. The wood of the hornbeam is the hardest of all the native trees. The wood is dense and hard, tough and elastic. It is used to construct carving boards, tool, handles, handplane soles and other products where a very tough and hard wood is required.
