In-Mold Label Market Scope
In-mold labeling is used in the packaging industry as an alternate for printing molded parts with special requirements, such as a highly flexible design or when the preferred print image cannot be immediately applied on the molded part. The labels are usually printed polypropylene foils only a few tenths of a millimeter thick. The term in-mould labeling is derived from the technique a preprinted polypropylene (PP) label is placed in a mould. This mould has the shape of the end product, and it fuses with the label, and while curing, it takes the shape of the mould. The labels are held in the mold with a static vacuum.
