Detergent is known to be a mixture of surfactants with cleaning properties. The surfactants are soap-like compounds and mostly soluble in hard water. The alkyl benzene sulfonates and their compounds are the main ingredients of the detergent. Detergents are mainly classified into three types of detergents, such as anionic detergents, cationic detergents, and nonionic and zwitterionic detergents. In the household, context detergents are referred to as detergents and foam agents as cleaning agents. Laundry detergents are usually available as powders or concentrated solutions. The household detergents are used for daily household cleaning, while industrial detergents are used for industrial purposes. The detergent capsules are water-soluble bags that contain highly concentrated detergent. The chemistry of detergent capsules is the same as that of liquid laundry detergents (including alkyl benzene sulfonates). The soluble packets are typically made of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) or a derivative of PVA. Although the formulas are similar, the liquids in a detergent package can contain 10% water compared to 50% in liquid detergents.
