About Tidal Stream Generators
Tidal stream generators are the converting devices that use the kinetic energy of wave or moving water to rotate turbines to generate power, the power available for tidal power generation in a standard ara can be greater than wind turbines because of its higher density of water. There are several types of generators used for tidal stream using wave power plants and tidal power plants which includes axial generators, crossflow turbines generator, oscillating generators, and others. These types of tidal stream generators are cheap and environment-friendly for the production of any type of tidal power.

On 12th October 2022, Tocardo has come to an agreement on the acquisition of the 1.25MW Oosterschelde Tidal Power Plant, the largest tidal array in the world installed on the Dutch icon Oosterscheldekering. The acquisition follows the successful technical due diligence phase during September 2020. The project is an important step for the global tidal energy sector and for our clean energy future.
In July 2203, Orbital Marine Power (Orbital), the renewable energy company focused on the commercial deployment of its innovative floating tidal turbine technology, announced it has been awarded an Option Agreement from Crown Estate Scotland for a new tidal energy project in the Westray Firth.
"Tidal and wave energy projects are subject to permitting by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) under the Maine Waterway Development and Conservation Act (MWDCA), the State's one-stop hydropower permitting law. The MWDCA requires an evaluation of the full range of potential economic and environmental impacts of a project, including impacts on public safety, wetlands, water quality, fish and wildlife resources, historic and archaeological sites, public access, and energy generation. DEP has permitting jurisdiction over all tidal and wave energy projects located in State waters (those waters within 3 miles of the mainland and an island that is part of Maine)."
