About Fatty Amides
Fatty amides are amides which are formed from a fatty acid and an amine. Fatty amide have ethanolamine as the amine component. It is known as N-acylethanolamines. They are derived from erucic acid, stearic acid and oleic acid. Hence they are differentiated on the basis of their source. Essential fatty amides are erucamide, oleamide, stearamide and behenamide are widely used. They are used as functional agents in polyolefin film processing industries. This polyolefin film processing is mainly used in paper, food & beverages industries. Thus, rising expenditure of this end use industries has impacted on the demand for fatty amide in positive manner. Geographically, Asia Pacific region is witnessing huge demand for fatty amide owing to increasing paper and plastic industry followed by North America and Europe.
