About Multi Course Harps
A multi-thread harp is a harp with more than one row of strings. Two-row harps are called double harps; three-row harps are called triple harps. A harp with only one row of strings is called a catchy harp. The strings can run parallel to each other or converge so that the lower ends of the strings are very close together. In both cases, the adjacent strings are tuned to the same note. In the traditional design, all of the strings are stretched from the left side of the neck; in modern neck designs, the two outer rows of strings are stretched from the opposite sides of the neck to significantly reduce the tendency of the neck to roll to the left.
