About Heat Recovery Systems
A heat recovery system also called HRV or MVHR, works via a heat recovery ventilation unit that is usually located in the roof space, attic, or plant room of the building. A heat recovery system basically draws heat from extracted air and then passes it to the air which is been filtered from the outside, rather than just extracting the air and replacing it with air from the outside. This extraction and supply process of air does not happen within the same pipes and even there would be no cross-contamination of various airflows. The unit of heat recovery is connected to the air valves of the room via a network of the ducting throughout the whole building.
