Pervious pavement is made of either pervious asphalt or pervious concrete. It is a specific type of pavement with high porosity that allows rainwater to pass through it into the ground below. It consists of Portland cement, open-graded coarse aggregate and water. It contains enough void space to allow rapid percolation of water and resembles exposed aggregate concrete. It also traps suspended solids and pollutants in the water keeping them from polluting the water stream.
