Triethylene Glycol is colourless, odourless with low viscosity and high boiling point. It is miscible in water and liquid in nature. It displays advantages in applications where lower volatility than diethyl glycol is required, and in cases where high boiling point is needed or high molecular weight of the product is preferred. Triethylene glycol is also known to display moisture absorption capabilities which are useful for hygroscopic applications.
