What is Polyvinylidene Chloride Market?
Polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) is a synthetic resin that is produced by the polymerization of vinylidene chloride. PVDC is used as a thin layer between paper, cellophane, and plastic to advance packaging performance. It is used mainly in clear, flexible, and resistant plastic food wrap. PVDC usually is applied as a film in food packing due to its low gas permeability in terms of water (vapor) or oxygen. PVDC as yarn on the other hand typically finds application for filters or shades. For thermochromic yarn types of PVDC, it is often used in the manufacture of toys. It is often used in the packaging of confectionary products, dehydrated foods, dairy products, sausages, meat, smoked fish, and dried products.
