Waterborne adhesives is also known as Water-based adhesives. It is mainly formulated from natural and synthetic polymers. Number of natural polymers from vegetable, proteins, and animal sources are used. Synthetic sources consist of cellulose ethers, polyvinyl alcohol, methylcellulose, polyvinylpyrrolidone and others. Waterborne adhesives are used to provide strength during absorption by the substrate. Hence they are used for automated assembly of laminates. It is involve in water permeable substrates such as film or foil to paper and wood veneer to wood or wood composite.
