Dioctyl maleate (DOM) is a clear, virtually colourless liquid and it has ester-like odour. Dioctyl maleate (DOM) is used in organic synthesis. Mostly it is preferred for the production of derivatives of succinic acid. It acts as comonomer acrylic emulsion polymerization for paints and adhesives. Dioctyl Maleate (DOM) is used as an additive and intermediate in the synthesis of organic compounds. It is used in the production of sulfosuccinates which are used for detergent applications.
