In February 2021, Enovix Corp had agreed to go public through a merger with blank-check firm Rodgers Silicon Valley Acquisition Corp in a deal that values the lithium-ion battery maker at US Dollar 1.13 billion, including debt. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has modified the safety standards for lithium coin cell and button cell batteries, which are commonly used in watches. These new laws go into effect on June 22nd and are intended to reduce the risk of battery ingestion, particularly by children. The standards are set to be implemented in December 2020, with an 18-month transition period to allow businesses to prepare.
