MacDermid Offshore Solutions, the leading provider of high-performance and environmentally friendly products for the offshore oil and gas industry, has added Oceanic EL 08, a new organic and biodegradable lubricant, to its product line. Oceanic EL 08 is a non-flammable and non-hazardous replacement for flammable or hazardous solvents and corrosion inhibitors used in umbilicals. Oceanic EL 08 can be used safely to fill, test, and store umbilicals. For safe and efficient venting to production, Oceanic EL 08 is compatible with oil-soluble production chemicals. Users do not need to change the oil soluble fluid before starting production, which saves time, physical effort, and potential flow assurance issues associated with changing fluids in chemical injection lines.
The Petroleum Act 1998 governs the decommissioning of offshore oil and gas installations and pipelines on the United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UKCS).
