Market Snapshot:
Plaster retarder is a chemical additive that is used with finishing plasters to delay the initial set of concrete and setting-type joint compounds. It is widely used in the concrete while plastering large areas or in warm weather to slow down the set time of cement compositions and keep in workable condition. Retarders are also used in the grouting oil wells to prevent the entry of oil or gas into other strata. The most commonly known retarder is the calcium sulfate – gypsum that is widely used for plastering residential buildings and to make plaster of paris.
Market Drivers
- Surging Demand for Gypsum Plastering for Internal Plastering Surfaces as it is Eco-friendly Alternative
- High Growth of Plaster Retarders to Extend the Set Time and Strength of Plasters
Restraints
- High Cost of Organic Plaster Retarders
