About Pole Mounted Transformer
Pole-mounted transformers are electric utility distribution transformers that are installed on a service pole (wood or concrete) and are often located at the level of the overhead wires. Pole-mounted transformers are the most often used breadbox transformers for converting distribution voltage to the 120/240-volt electricity required by residences and low-volume business applications. Pole-mounted electrical transformers are often utilized in rural areas. These transformers range in power from 16 kVA to 100 kVA and can convert voltages ranging from 11,000 to 33,000 volts to 400 volts. Pole-mounted transformers are compact in size and mass, making them easy to place on single-pole structures, and bigger units on two-pole structures, around 5 meters above the ground. This renders the transformers unavailable, lowering the danger of animal and human harm and limiting damage.
