Electric Bikes are bicycles with a battery-powered “assist” that comes via pedaling and, in some cases, a throttle. When the pedals are push on a pedal-assist e-bike, a small motor engages and gives a boost, so the rider can zip up hills and cruise over tough terrain without gassing. Electric Bikes are actually just bicycles with added electric motors. Electric bikes have the same wheels, handlebars and body geometry as regular mechanical bikes. E-bikes use rechargeable batteries and typically travel up to 25 to 32 km/h (16 to 20 mph). High-powered varieties can often travel more than 45 km/h (28 mph).
